TAIWAN!!!!

I just got to Taiwan yesterday at around seven in Taipei. It was the WRONG PLACE!!!! So we had to go on a bus for around four hours after the four hour flight from Tokyo. Geez. I'm at my grandmas house right now and there are quite a few good things about it. Firstly, I get to see my grandma... (DUH). The tv channels are super awesome. Well, there is Cartoon Network. And at home we only ever watch movies. (And Sherlock) so there are HEAPS of things I love watching. A few are Finn and jake, the amazing world of gumball and some other stuff that I won't name cause it's for like five year olds. (Don't judge) there are also lots of yummy food like the one in my hand right now. :D (heehee) But... It's boiling hot here and my grandma is really nice so she basically knows all the shopkeepers and they're really curious so they keep asking about meand my sister and saying how "cute" we are and how I'm taller than my sister (and soon my dad). I really don't like people telling me I'm cute. Unless I know them really well and I'm sure that they mean it. :D (all my friends are cute!!!!!) anyway, I'm gonna go watch tv. My fave show is coming up... See ya!!! Hope everyone enjoys their Christmas holidays!!!

JAPAN!!!!!

I have been in Japan at my aunt's house for about ten days now and... (I never thought I would say this but) things are going pretty well. My aunt makes REALLY REALLY nice food and (this is a secret, don't tell anyone) it has only been ten days here and I'm already three kilos more than I was when I was back at home. *sigh. Anyway, whenever my family goes on a holiday we bring HEAPS of things and also buy HEAPS of things. As I said it has only been ten days and we have three big suitcases two smaller ones and four backpacks. I went to Disneyland YESTERDAY. It was so awesome!!!! There were heaps of rides and they were all so amazing. My favourite one is (OF COURSE) Pirates of the Caribbean. :D :D :DD Afterwards,I got this SUPER AWESOME pirate necklace called Pieces of Eight. I chose it because it was in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. It was SO SO SO expensive!! It was 50 dollars. :o I also saw invitations with pictures of Johnny Depp (JOHNNY DEPP?!?!) I didnt get it though. oh well. I got signatures from quite a few disney bcharacters. My favourite one was Cinderella. She asked me where I was from. I said New Zealand and she said I must have been in a pumpkin carriage for a long time. (she is really nice) my second favourite ride is called It's a small world and the third is the Haunted Mansion. On the ride Snow White's adventure there was a sign saying some scenes of the wicked witch will scare small children and I was thinking oh I've got nothing to worry about but when I first saw her HIDEOUS face I started screaming and it was so embarrasing. There was a ride called Splash Mountain and me and my mom were at the front row and we got COMPLETELY SOAKED. Both of our hair were dripping wet. And that is probably why I am sick right now. I slept until 2:00 in the afternoon  and I had to eat heaps of medicine. We also watched about three parades and two firework shows.

We went on three day trips and got to eat heaps of ice cream.
There was a cupnoodle museum and you got to design your own cupnoodle. It was SO cool. I wrote all my friend's names and nicknames on it. I also got to choose what went in it.

Then we went to a restaurant for dinner. There was this rotating surface with lots of coloured plates on it and on the plates are heaps of yummy food!! Each colour represents a price. I ate so much...

This afternoon my parents went out and bought me new speakers. They are blue (my favourite colour) and they are so cool. :)

Tomorrow I am going to Taiwan to see my grandmother. There is going to be another boring flight. I am excited to see her and drink CC lemon and bubble tea. :D

Overall I have enjoyed my time in Japan and I really miss everyone.

NOOOO!!! I DON'T WANT AN EARLY HOLIDAY!!!

So... Basically I'm going to miss a few weeks of school. Because I'm having an early holiday. It might sound fun, but I actually would rather finish the year first. Don't take me wrong, of course I want to go on holiday, but I'm gonna miss all my friends so much!! Plus, next year the year eights will go to college an I've already become really good friends with them. It won't be the same next year without them.:(

My flight to Auckland is actually today, it will take about an hour. From Auckland, we are stopping by Australia which will take another three hours. :( From there we are going to fly straight to Taiwan. My favourite place in the world!!! :D  Our house there is huge, and there is always LOTS of yummy food!! My mum's parents live there and they are SO nice to me. There are heaps of night markets and baby turtles only cost about $2!! (They are so cute but they die kinda quite easily)

I'm going to miss all my friends so much. Yesterday was my last day at school, and I went hyper with all my friends!! :D We also went to the disco and I got to dance with someone that I have a crush on. My friends gave me that courage :) My friends did a special request song for me!!! I feel like I can't live without them now...

Hope you guys enjoy the rest of school and HOLIDAY!!!

Year eight next year? No thanks...

So... Basically I'm a year seven right now and it's nearly the end of the year. Which means... EVERYONE IS GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS!!! and new year and... School next year *sigh*. I like being at school, not because of the work. Actually, maybe Maori!! But the reason why I like school so much is because I get to see my friends everyday and we have made up a "welcoming committee". Plus, I don't get how EVERYONE is so excited about being a year 8. That's okay... But everyone mentions "bossing people around", "sitting on the chairs" and "getting more priority" and yeah... What about helping out in the school more? or being a better role-model? Or a good Catholic Character and House Captain? Being the head of the school DEFINATELY does NOT mean bossing people around. Personally, I like hanging out with little kids and a particular nine year old.(heehee) Anyway, If you are going to be a year 8 next year, think about what you can do for the school. If you're going to college... I don't know... Good luck and try not to get lost?? I'm going to Taiwan this saturday, so... Note to year 8's : We will miss you!! (remember to visit occasionally) And to year 7's : See you next year!! Enjoy your holidays!!!

JOHNNY DEPP SPEECH!!!! (Failed)

Before I did my speech I was so scared that I started crying... :( My friends were all really nice to me though :D They offered to go up and stand there with me but I said that I'll be okay... When I went upon stage I feel like everyone was staring at me and it was creepy. I started looking at my friends, which was my first mistake. I started laughing and said my speech wrong :O But it was fine... I guess.  I feel like a few people got creeped out by my speech, but I kind of was expecting that. My favourite speeches that I heard were Millie's which was about kiwis and  Aisling's which was world's dumbest inventions. I enjoyed listening to speeches, but definitely NOT reading them!! I hope people in rm11 liked my speech. (btw, no one fainted)

Speech TOMORROW!!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG. I'm doing my speech tomorrow!! It might sound like I'm so excited that I posted about it but... NOOOOO!!!! I can't believe it!! Mr.Cunningham was just pulling names out of the name box and it was just up to the last person that was going to go today. And it was... ME :( I don't know why, but I feel like everyone was like cheering and laughing. Geez, I never knew you were all such big fans of Johnny Depp!! Also when Mr Cunningham was asking who wanted to go, WHY did you all look at me and saying I did? At least we were doing tasks after so we didn't have time to do my speech... Which means I'm doing it first thing tomorrow. Seriously, please comment and tell me why you guys want to hear it so bad. Cause I don't think ALL of you love Johnny Depp THAT much.

House of Secrets (Mentions Johnny Depp) :o

I literally JUST finished that book. I really enjoyed it because it had pirates and lots of really cool and awesome characters in it. It is about a boy called Brendan with his two sisters, Cordelia and Eleanor and their parents. Basically, His dad, Dr Walker, loses all his money and so they have to sell their house and buy a new one. They find one that is very big and mysterious and secretive and very affordable. Until a witch comes and "stuff" happens. Unfortunately, I can't mention anymore or someone will accuse me of spoiling the book to you guys. My favourite character is Eleanor because when they met the pirates she said Weird, none of them are as cute as Johnny Depp!! (Oh my gosh, I would have said the exact same thing). What is your favourite book? Hope you liked the post and start fan-girling over Johnny Depp!!! :D

Speech... *sigh* :( Well...At least I have a good topic!! :)

Oh no!! Term four.Which equals to... Speech!!!(AGAIN) I was trying to come up with a good excuse for not doing my speech, like : I already did it last year or awwww sorry but I will be going on holiday early and it is SUCH a pity to miss speech.(notice the sacrcasm...) I am actually going on holiday early, but sadly, not early enough :( I still haven't told you what my topic is, but I'm sure most of you already know.It's... JOHNNY DEPP!!! He is definately my most favourite actor because I think he's just I don't know, Flawless? Is that a good word in this situation? I can't decide. (And that is exactly why I think I'm going to fail at speech.Whenever I get in front of the class to do any kind of presentation I always freeze and no words come out of my mouth... :( Anyway, I won't be here to watch the speech finalists because I'm getting an early holiday!! I don't expect to get into the finals(and I don't want to). I just hope that people in my class who are listening to it won't fall asleep in the middle of it, or find it "creepy" in any way. My aspects that I'm focusing on are : Firstly, Eyecontact. I always either stare out the window or at my teacher because every time I look at my friends the expression they have on their face just makes me burst out laughing and I get a bit out of control, so I don't know how I'm going to last that 3-4 minutes. Then, there's the speed. I ALWAYS present my speech WAY too fast because I think I can get it over and done with sooner. But I was wrong. It just makes it worse because I make loads more mistakes and my 3 minute speech ends up being 1 and a half minutes. :( Also, no one can actually understand what I'm saying. Lastly, when I'm up there I can never stand in a comfortable position and I just look very stiff.
By the way, I have no idea how to work on those aspects, cause I can't help it... But I'm sure a lot of people will do very well on their speech.(Not as sucky as me) Well, my topic IS Johnny Depp :o and that means I'll have something to work for!! :)
P.S Good luck to everyone!!

Space-What I found interesting

In the past few weeks, we have been learning about Space. The thing I found most interesting was how the earth is on an angle  of 23.5 degrees. I also found the Seasons quite interesting because when the earth is tilted away from the sun it would be winter and there would be less daytime which means it would be dark for longer. In summer when the earth is close to the sun that means it would seem like a longer day. We also had to do a half page research on "something" and so my group chose to do the Nebula which is a cloud formed by dust, hydrogen, helium, gas and some other "stuff". (The nebulas look really awesome!!)
And that's a picture of it...

Term Three Holidays

In the holidays I went skiing on Mt Ruapehu. It took us four hours to get there by car and most of the time I was just listening to music and checking the whole way to see if we can stop by subway. I love Subway!!! Anyway, when we got to Ohakune we stayed at a chalet and it was right opposite the one we stayed at last year, which was really cool. On that day, we went up on the mountain, but there wasn't enough time to do actual skiing because all gear are meant to be returned at 4:00and we got there at about 3:30. So instead we had a snowball fight. It was fun, because I got to keep hitting my siter in the face. i enjoyed that a lot, but my sister got really annoyed because her hair got wet too... The next day we woke up really early and we got ready to go up on the mountain and actually ski. I had to put on two puffer jackets before my parents let me go.Normally every year when we come my sister and I normally take lessons, but this time we begged our mom to just let us go play. On our third day there(which was also our last day, I was already feeling confident, so my mom let me ski down the mountain all by myself. I did it four times and I also had to go on the chair lift by myself twice. I found going on a chairlift by myself a lot more scary than skiing down the mountain by myself because I'm really scared of heights. It took another four hours to get back home, and on the way we stopped twice for subway!!

Highlights of the production

I liked how the main actors didn't forget their lines and how the microphone transfer went really well. All the dances were amazing and I loved watching the scenes. I especially liked watching Let It Go. Even though I couldn't actually be a part of it on that night. I really enjoyed the production.

What I am excited about in the production

I am really excited about how my mom and my sister are coming to the production on Wednesday night and how I am going with Millie on Thursday. I am also really looking forward to listening to the song let it go again. Personally, I think it sounds amazing. I hope the parents would really enjoy our production.

Election

At school we've been learning about the election because it's coming up. I learned that there are around 120 members of parliament. (MPs) and that representatives are chosen every three years. New Zealand is divided into 70 geographical areas called electorates or seats and each one is represented by a MP. I also learnt that you get two votes. One is the party vote and it's to choose who is the government. The second vote is the electorate vote, that is how the MP of your electorate is chosen. But the most important vote is the party vote. Elections are always held on a Saturday, which is called polling day. The votes are cast in secret in polling booths which are usually in places such as schools and church halls.
That is all I can remember about the Elections.

Sports

My favourite sport is badminton and I go to a badminton hall every Friday to practice. Most of the time I go with Millie, but sometimes it's just me and my sister. I started playing badminton when I was 7 years old. I used to hate it because every time I stopped concentrating, The coach would make me run around the whole courts once, which is 400m. Or sometimes I even have to do it twice. Now I really enjoy it because I find it fun.Especially when I go with Millie.

Production

For the production I am going quite well with the dance it's not that hard, plus nearly all my best friends are also in the Cantina scene that I'm in.  I don't have any lines for the production so I don't need to worry about trying to memorise anything.
I've nearly finished making my costume, I just need to do a bit more painting. My friends have been helping me a lot and giving me lots of support.

My Favourite Song

My favourite song is called Heartbreak girl, it is by 5 Seconds Of Summer. It is about a guy who is stuck in the friendzone and he wants to show his friend that he can be a better boyfriend than the one who broke her heart. I really like this song because its catchy and it's by my favourite band.

This is the lyrics:

You call me up,
It's like a broken record
Saying that your heart hurts
That you never get over him getting over you,
And you end up crying  And I end up lying,
'Cause I'm just a sucker for anything that you do,

And when the phone call finally ends,
You say, "Thanks for being a friend,"
And we're going in circles again and again

I dedicate this song to you,
The one who never sees the truth,
That I can take away your hurt, heartbreak girl.
Hold you tight straight through the day light,
I'm right here. When you gonna realise
That I'm your cure, heartbreak girl?

I bite my tongue but I wanna scream out
You could be with me now
But I end up telling you what you wanna hear,
But you're not ready and it's so frustrating
He treats you so bad and I'm so good to you it's not fair.

And when the phone call finally ends
You say, "I'll call you tomorrow at 10,"
And I'm stuck in the friend zone again and again,

I dedicate this song to you,
The one who never sees the truth,
That I can take away your hurt, heartbreak girl.
Hold you tight straight through the day light,
I'm right here. When you gonna realise
That I'm your cure, heartbreak girl?

I know someday it's gonna happen
And you'll finally forget the day you met him
Sometimes I'm so close to confession,
I gotta get it through your head that you belong with me instead,

I dedicate this song to you,
The one who never sees the truth,
That I can take away your hurt, heartbreak girl.
Hold you tight straight through the day light,
I'm right here. When you gonna realise
That I'm your cure, heartbreak girl?

I dedicate this song to you,
The one who never sees the truth,
That I can take away your hurt, heartbreak girl.
Hold you tight straight through the day light,
I'm right here. When you gonna realise
That I'm your cure, heartbreak girl?

Egypt Art

This is the God Anubis. He weighs the heart in the underworld and he has a jackal head. I used black and gold paint. I also used blue dye for my background. I liked the colours that I used and how they fit well together.

Egypt Week

My topic was about the weighing of the heart and I leart a lot about What would happen if your heart was not as light as a feather.I learned alot from the 20 questions activity. I enjoyed the mummy activity the most because we got to wrap someone up in toilet paper. I thought our one was the tidiest but we didn't win first place. I really enjoyed learning about Ancient Egypt.

We've been working on gymnastics at Nairnville and this is going to be our last week doing gymnastics. We start with doing a warm up game, then we do the stretches. After that we got put into three groups and we do all the routines. My favorite equipment was the trampoline I improved on the beam, bar and i'm a lot more confident now.

What I learnt this week

This week I learned what corresponding angle, co-interior angle and alternative angles are.I learnt it at school with my friends and at home I asked my sister to explain it all to me and give me some more examples. I think I will remember it, What helps me remember the things I learn is to try practice more.

Book Group

I was in the Running out of time group. A lot of things went well, we had a lot of good discussions and we unlocked crackers on our second session. We have six people in our group. They are Olivia, Grace, Katherine, Jessica, Mercedes and I. What didn't go so well was that sometimes two or three people talked at the same time.  I really enjoyed book group and I also really liked the book that we are reading.

If you hold my hand

My favourite childhood book was called If You Hold My Hand and it is written by Jillian Harker and illustrated by Andy Eveitt-Stewart. It is about a rabbit called Oakey exploring with his mum and how he is scared because he is small and the world is big. I enjoyed it all and how it has cute illustrations and Oakey gets braver.I always ask my mum to read it to me. It is still one of my favourite picture books.

Mission Fair

For Mission Fair we had a stall in room 6 and our stall was called The Electric Shock. We sold lollies, chocolate, marshmallows and we let people try out a game. The chocolate and game went well. Next time I would dip the marshmallows in chocolate. Even though I only got to visit two stalls, it was really fun!

What I enjoy doing at home

I enjoy going lots of things at home. I like playing with my pets on the trampoline. In the weekends  I like visiting my neighbors since they have two dogs and a cat, sometimes I even bring my bunny Max.I like making things, drawing and reading. When I'm bored, I also like to watch movies or go on the Ipad and text my friends. Do you like playing with your pets too??

Statistics

In statistics, I think I have improved in pie graphs and reading and understanding line graphs.I think I still need to work on line graphs and drawing them even though I have improved on in a lot. I learnt how to use a protractor and the angles. The first test I got 55% and on the second one, I got 91%. So overall I think I improved a lot on Statistics.

E.O.T.C week

I really enjoyed E.O.T.C week. I enjoyed camp Kaitoke and Mt KauKau the most. I found going up Mt KauKau the most challenging, because before we got halfway, I was already really, really tired. I found kayaking and orienteering the easiest. Sailing and climbing Mt KauKau wasn't what I expected because I thought sailing would have been a lot harder and I thought climbing Mt KauKau would be way less tiring. My proudest moment was when I did campfire cooking and when we found the last sign for orienteering. My favourite moment was when we were doing Capital E and when we played sports after coming back to school.

Swimming

For swimming I only enjoy having free time, I am in Blue with Millie and Caitlin. We have been working on our breathing position, free style and backstroke. I think I am improving on my breathing position, but sometimes it is still quite hard to stay afloat while I breathe.
