Term 1 Reflection and Holidays!!!

This term has been fantastic. I’ve enjoyed the school picnic, Tech, Swimming and most of all, Camp!! I really liked the group activities, like the Maori legend art because I get to work with my friends from different classes.  This term has gone by so fast and I am so looking forward to next term, term 2.  For the 2 week holidays, I’ll probably stay home and watch movies, or invite my friends over. Yeah. That’s about it. But the term 3 holidays will be better because every year we go skiing and I love it so much!!

Best week ever :D

As you know, last week was year 8 camp. We went to Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Centre also known as Hillary Outdoors or OPC.  What I found most challenging was Bridge-Jumping because it was hard letting go of the bridge and falling into the freezing cold water.
I found Caving and Flying Fox pretty easy. It wasn't really what I expected because I thought the bridge would be higher, but I'm glad it wasn't that high. My proudest moment was when I jumped off the bridge because I couldn't believe I actually did it. I didn't really have a "favourite moment" because I enjoyed every bit of camp.
I really liked being in the same cabin with Millie, Grace, Caitlin, Sharon and Katherine because they're my best friends.
At the high ropes I expected myself to start crying and screaming to get down, but it was the total opposite. I loved it.
I really have to thank Frankie because without his encouragement, I would never have done "the birth canal" or bridge-jumping and he also volunteered to do high ropes with me.

Reflection of my "group work skills"

Recently we've been learning about the ICC cricket world cup and personally I'm not that interested cause it's been explained to me heaps, but, you can't blame me. I just don't get it. For the cricket world cup project i worked with Niamh. She's an awesome partner and can make cricket seem less boring. She does like to tell me what to do sometimes, but that's good because i won't have to worry about what bit to work on next. Our poster and our PowerPoint were both very successful. I think.
For my art poster, I am partners with Millie and Grace. We work super well together (like we always do).  I finished the border of Maori patterns and it ONLY took 3 and a half hours!! I think we'll be able to finish the artwork this week as we are all so "hardworking".  I love working with my friends and I hope there will be more tasks like this sometime.

btw, I like cheese, do you like cheese?

India!!! (and stuff I've learnt about my super weird friends)

The country I've been researching is India and my partner is Niamh. Some facts I've learnt about it is that the country is officially called the Republic of India. It is the seventh largest country in the world. The capital city is New Delhi but their biggest city is Mumbai. Their official language is Hindi and English and their currency is called Rupees. They also have the second largest population with over 1.2 billion people. That's not all, there are also lots of interesting facts like how cricket is the most popular sport in India is cricket and the national symbol is the endangered Bengal tiger. It is also illegal to take Rupees out of India. Breathing the air in Mumbai for one day is equivalent to smoking a hundred cigarettes because of the pollution. There are police officers in a state who get paid extra for having moustaches.

I learnt that Millie likes spies, Grace likes the colour blue, Calvin likes dragons, Caitlin likes Bob the builder, Katherine likes Kpop, Sharon likes The vamps and a particular fish and bro likes you.

The extra thing I learnt this week is that injections don't hurt.
